La storia di Portegrandi è legata alla sua particolare posizione geografica, in quanto luogo di confine e di cerniera idraulica tra laguna e terraferma. Cantiere nautico sorto all’inizio del secolo scorso sulle rive del Piave, allora fiume navigabile di grande interesse commerciale. Voluto con tutte le forze dal bisnonno degli attuali proprietari divenne ben presto punto di riferimento per tutti gli operatori del settore. Trasferito nell’immediato ultimo dopo guerra lungo le rive della laguna di Venezia, sul canale Silone, si sviluppò seguendo le due grandi vie della tradizione e della tecnologia.

Portegrandi’s history is tied to its unique geographic location, straddling as it does the border between the lagoon and the mainland. A shipyard built in the early 20th century on the banks of the Piave River, which was navigable at the time and of great importance for trade. Dear to the heart of the great-grandfather of the current owners, it quickly became a reference for all operators in the sector. Shortly after WWII, the shipyard was transferred to the shores of the Venice lagoon, on the Silone canal, where it grew, directed by its two great guide lights: tradition and technology.
